ONE Summit Thoughts, Reflection, Feedback

  • Focus on automation. How do we enable communities/users to benefit from efforts of 5G SBP. User value
  • How does OS contribute? wholistically/solution level, specfic? both?
  • Are we on the right track to interest carriers? If not how do we get there?
  • LF Edge open architecture from an edge perspective. How could that fit into the 5G SBP? Setup alignment discussions. Potential session for uopcoming virtual DTF
    • Specifiy foundational capabilities into a visual (Muddasar). Potentially including both Edge and 5G
    • Develop a survey of features. What capabilities and features can be unlocked?
  • Look at greenfield and brownfield opportunities (Dish networks?).
  • Mitre had difficulties implementing ONAP SCDR, even after taking course (Dave Ambrust). David can provide retrospective.
    • Pano advises training may be somewhat outdated.
    • 5G SBP can provide configs and documentation to make entry point easier.

Documentation

  • Standing Motto: document as you code.... document as you build
  • Documentation Focus: 5G SBP Infrastructure, open source projects (under the hood), Use Cases Slicing, UULC, eMBB
  • Documentation is critical to successfully showcase and archive our work. It allows for evolution of the work to continue forward. It allows consumers to duplicate the work, and it allows participating companies to leverage the collateral and showcase the work they have done in the project.
  • Visual Inspection Use Case Documentation: Documentation: Documentation:  [Add document link]https://docs.google.com/document/d/1dkk84woawkCiLBGSDrcEddXypmD5JFk6/edit?usp=sharing&ouid=115348460061026676315&rtpof=true&sd=true
  • Documentation Timeline- the timeline is developed to ensure that the documentation is released in a timely manner such that the work is still relevant and fresh
    • Draft of complete document ready for review- November 10, 2022 - achieved- Thank you
    • Final Document Release - December 8, 2022
  • Call to Action: review and provide commentary

    • Automate existing lab with EMCO
      • Use Case- deploy & manage edge compute
        • Build foundational capabilities first
        • Next Step- develop Use Case/User Stories
          • Remote Attestation
      • LOE - 6 months? Dependent on resourcesavailable.
      • Whats needed for deliverable/documentation so that at least EMCO orchestration of Free5GC is consumable?
        • Identify integration points
    • Private 5G - Do we have capability to demonstrate Private 5G? (slicing)
      •  What are the gaps? What is the path to achieve?
    • ORAN ORAN-SC SMO
      • LOE
      • Needed for deploy & manage edge compute (O-cloud)/(O2 interface) Use Case
