30m, Byung-Woo Jun This session will provide ONAP ASD packaging onboarding and AS orchestration architecture, implementation and roadmap for Cloud-Native NF/App. The audience will gain knowledge on new CNF descriptor and package specification, and see how the new specification-based orchestration simplifies the CNF modeling and orchestration. |
Topic Overview
Application Service Descriptor (ASD) describes cloud-native orchestration metadata and packaging, leveraging cloud-native models, such as helm charts, CRDs or similar ones.
Unlike the existing/alternative CNF modeling specifications, the ASD does not duplicate information that is already provided by the cloud native models, and yet provides simplified orchestration controlling metadata. As a result, ASD-based CNF models are concise and AS lifecycle orchestration is much simplified, by delegating resource management to cloud platforms, such as Kubernetes.
This session will provide ONAP ASD package onboarding and AS orchestration Architecture and Design for Cloud-Native NF/App deployment operations, by highlighting the following features:
- ASD overview and motivation
- ONAP ASD-based CNF onboarding and orchestration PoC overview
- ASD package distribution across ONAP runtime components
- Registration of target Cloud clusters
- ASD-based CNF deployment to a selected target clusters
- Roadmap for network service connections, CNF/App affinities and APIs
