  1. this is about a virtual event
  2. this is a developer event designed to promote collboration within a community

Dear {Boss},

I’d like to attend the ONE Summit, the Linux Foundation Networkings premier next Developer event on all things open source networking, which is being held in-person for the first time since 2020 in Seattle on November 15-18virtually on June 6-8. 2023.

I’ve researched many similar conferences and this is THE conference to attend for networking developers, sysadmins, devops dev-ops professionals, architects and community leadership professionals that want . Not only is this event a way to expand their my knowledge, skills, and help solve technical issues with the best and brightest in the community, and learn/collaborate within the open source ecosystems. The main conference is held on November 15-16 followed by the LF Networking Developer & Testing Forum on November 17-18. Not only is this event a pop-up think tank, it’s also a technical forum on open source networking technologies!

The registration fee includes access to all ONE Summit keynotes and sessions, co-located events, access to the sponsor technology showcase, and networking lounges. It also includes entrance to face-to-face peer networking events.

Here’s how I envision my attendance at the ONE Summit 2022 Developer & Testing Forum in June of 2023 strengthening our organization:

  1. The ONE Summit D&TF connects the open source networking ecosystem under developers on one roofplatform. It covers cornerstone open source technologies; helps ecosystem leaders to navigate open source transformation with tracks on business and compliance; and delves into the newest technologies and latest trends touching open source, including networking, cloud-native, edge computing, AI and much more. It is an extraordinary opportunity for cross-pollination between projects the developers, sysadmins, DevOps professionals and IT architects driving the future of technology.
  2. The “hallway track” at ONE Summit will allow me to meet top technical minds across the ecosystem. I hope to meet others that might face the same challenges and problems that I do so that we can work together to solve technical issues now and in the future, as well as share best practices. Creating strategic partnerships at the event could be very useful in the future when we encounter new challenges. The co-located Developer & Testing Forum is the primary technical event for the LFN project communities. Held 3 times a year, these events draw 300+ open source community members. Here This is where the folks that are actually building and testing the code converge via virtual sessions , workshops, tutorials, and demos to further project releases; discuss architecture, direction, and integration points; and innovate through the open source networking stack. There is no additional cost to attend, but it always fills up quickly. The fact that this particular D&TF immediately follows the ONE Summit gives us a bigger bang for the buck.that cover such topics as: release, feature and architecture planning; multi-project collaboration; and problem solving sessions.

ultimately, this is an event that is tailor made for the community by the community to accelerate project collaboration, influence technical decisions, and build cross-project confidence. You can learn more about the Developer & Testing forum by viewing the recorded sessions for the February, 2023 and November, 2022 events. You can learn more about the conference and view last year’s keynotes and other videos here:

I would be happy to write a post-conference event report to share what I’ve learned with the rest of our team and to recommend any open source paths to which we can contribute and from which we can benefit. Note that events like this and the learnings and connections made are some of the benefits of being part a member of the LFN community.

Best of all, there is no cost! But, it always fills up quickly. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. I hope we can make this opportunity work.
