It seems like naming/labeling is getting in the way of making progress. Specifically R2 meaning K8s platform and R1 meaning the first iteration of a OpenStack platform.
There can be a second (and third) iteration of OpenStack based platform and likewise multiple iterations of a K8s version
The CNTT docs show this on the first page of the ref arch, https://cntt-n.github.io/CNTT/doc/ref_arch/,
If R2 (RA, RI, RC) were more prominently shown as K8s and R1 was referred to as OpenStack it might help.
