Outstanding ARs

Minutes:

LF has reviewed the content proposal. Concept is strong. Concern is that need to balance with core LFN topics  and the cadence may stretch out to monthly during the summer.  CNTT will execute in OPNFV but there are also competing LF projects that need to get slotted in as well- Balance need to drive  LFN membership interests to get their messages out and so this needs to be considered.

Two solid submissions from CNTT right now but a July and an August webinar from CNTT can be doable. Brandon will continue to work this and it is important to note that CNTT submissions should highlight LF intersection.

Brandon will circle back with Beth on the content to ensure strong alignment with LF projects.

Bob will sync up with Walter on the abstract for his webinar.  The abstract could ideally be a bit more detailed.

Reviewed the Baraque release highlights deck. Lots of high value milestones planned that we can message about-

  • HW acceleration support will be addressed for the first time
  • OVP Badge release readiness for the first time
  • RI-1 was not really complete or reproducible in a participant lab before; now it will be, based on an Airship-based cookbook as one reference, at least.
    • Folks would be able to run RC-1 against this
  • Vastly improve the RA-2 Specfication so that clients can follow it for creating a compliant implementation for testing on RC-2
    • There is also an approved project now in OPNFV for a contributed RI-2 starting point. - kuberef
  • Edge WG will issue profiles for at least two use cases

Field Trial discussion started by Bob's questions as to whether we have some tangible results at this time to tout in our messaging. Some improvements against the original problem statement of CNTT

Scot Steele noted the field trials are still in flight with AT&T Mirantis and Verizon

Not targeted to performance but rather that we can demonstrate existing NFVIs can run against the NFVI RC-1 alpha test framework and the process thru RM->RA->RI→ RC

We could seek to test commercial or open sourc VNFs next or we could also take CNFs bundles as CaaS in VMs as a test VNF , on representative NFVIs as weel, before moving on to RC-2 verification.

More discussion to follow.
