2024 Program Timeline*

    • During this time, Mentors will submit their project proposals.
    • Mentorship project proposals 
    • Project TSCs should have reviewed and approves projects 
  • January 27 - March 6 (5 weeks): Community members who are interested in mentoring submit project proposals
  • March 9 - March 13 (1 week): Individual Project TSC reviews and approves projects 
  • March 23: List of approved projects announced and the program officially launched
    • TAC will review and approve the top 3 Mentorship projects via voice vote on  
  • March 23:
    • April 27, 17  17:00 Pacific Daylight Time: Mentee application closes
    • April 28 - May 15 (~3 weeks): - Mentee application review and applicant interview
      • Interns can expect to hear from the Mentor & Linux Foundation during this time if they meet the requirements for the application.
    • May 15: Top mentee candidates are identified and announced.
    • The final step will have the May 18 - May 22 (1 week): Finalize mentee cohort and selected mentees complete HR contracting paperwork
    • May 25 - May 29 (1 week): Mentee and mentor onboarding

    FT (Full-Time)
    Term Mentee Schedule

    Full A full-time program requires the commitment of 40 hours per week for 12 consecutive weeks from a mentee and this . This option is recommended for students who are off school from June to August and are capable of dedicating to dedicate a full-time to the internship. schedule.

      • June 1: official start date
    • June 19: 1st Quarter Evaluation at the end of week 3 (25% of the stipend will be paid to the mentee if the mentee is in good standing with the mentor following the 1st quarter evaluation)
      • July 14: Midterm Evaluation at the end of week 6
      (25% of the stipend will be paid to the mentee if the mentee is in good standing with the mentor following the midterm evaluation)
    • July 31: 3rd Quarter Evaluation at the end of week 9 (25% of the stipend will be paid to the mentee if the mentee is in good standing with the mentor following the 3rd quarter evaluation)

    • August 21: Midterm Quarter Evaluation at the end of week 12 (25% of the stipend will be paid to the mentee if the mentee is in good standing with the mentor following the midterm evaluation)
    • October 2: 3rd Quarter Evaluation at the end of week 18 (25% of the stipend will be paid to the mentee if the mentee is in good standing with the mentor following the 3rd quarter evaluation)
      • August 1st: Initial Evaluation
