Proposed Panel: Managing Competing Corporate Interests While building Collaborative Communities – Jun 22-24 Austin

  • White paper

Meeting notes:

Quick agenda bashing.  Add topic for Master governance workstream for the GSMA. Updates on Interviews with senior people from key organizations.  Some of them have been scheduled, more coming. Events update.  All submissions to Kubcon EU were rejected. Maybe can leverage the CNCF TUG group to get some presence at the conference.  Keep monitoring the situation.  There is much overlap in membership.

Update from Tom Kivlinand Brandon Wick:  There is an accepted  KubeCon EU panel with Heather Kirksey, Tom, Srinivasa Addepalli and other colleagues from LF Edge and LF Networking : https://sched.co/Zeq9. It's mostly on 5G + k8s, and while CNTT is not the main topic, it is likely that CNTT will likely come up in the conversation.

White paper:  Mirantis got some funding to do a WP for MWC originally, but now making it vendor neutral WP.  A vendor specific Intel/Mirantis solutions brief was created.  How easily can it be converted to be something CNTT focused.  Nick and Bob will work with the writer resource to get WP going.  Will start with the CNTT purpose chapter. Discussion of Metrics workstream.  Enhancements to the original code needs to be tweaked to truly capture the level of engagement by expanding the metrics to include participation in Confluence and Meetings as well as GitHub.  Need to discuss what we want to measure, for example how long does it take to on-board a VNF.  As we work on field trials, more metrics will be uncovered and identified. Strawman was proposed in Prague, but had lots of TBD in it.  Now will be able to make it more real.  Will have different types of labs – community, vendor, operator.  Details of the Metrics workstream work needs to be worked off-line.  Business case TCO work stream will be worked on by Joanna Newman.  Willl keep it a general as possible so it can be used by many companies.  We want to understand what the members want.  Discussion on where we should work on the TCO docs, use Confluence rather than GitHub.   Bob Monkman will create a link to the TCO working doc page.  Talk about new member adoption next week.
