The next LFN Developer & Testing Forum is scheduled for January 10-1= 3, 2022. Once again we will be virtually gathering the LFN project technica= l communities to progress our releases; discuss project architecture, direc= tion, and integration points; and further innovate through the open source = networking stack.
We will use a combination of online tools to create a productive and int= eractive virtual meeting environment. The event is free of cost and registr= ation is required. Please send any questions to events@lfnetworkin= g.org.
Participating projects and initiatives include the following:
5G Super Blueprint: A community-driven integration and proof of concept = involving multiple open source initiatives to show end-to-end use cases dem= onstrating implementation architectures for end users. The 5G Super Bluepri= nt will cover RAN, Edge, and Core and enable end-to-end open source solutio= ns for enterprises and verticals, large institutional organizations, and mo= re.
Anuket: The Anuket community will be hosting meetings exploring future d= evelopment topics, discussing operating procedures, and fostering collabora= tion with other projects.
EMCO: Edge Multi-Cluster Orchestrator (EMCO) is a software framework for= intent-based deployment of cloud-native applications to a set of Kubernete= s clusters, spanning enterprise data centers, multiple cloud service provid= ers and numerous edge locations. It is architected to be flexible, modular = and highly scalable. It is aimed at various verticals, including telecommun= ication service providers.
EUAG: LFN=E2=80=99s End User Advisory Group (EUAG) serves as the represe= ntatives of the business and technical interests of the Telecom companies t= o the LFN Projects and community. We look forward to using the forum to col= laborate with Projects and teams and help provide guidance on where the Tel= ecom Industry is going.
FD.io: FD.io will be discussing CSIT Performance Benchmarking, Anom= aly Detection, Results Tracking.
L3AF: At L3AF, our vision is to create a marketplace for eBPF programs (= Kernel Functions), where users and developers can share their own signed ke= rnel functions and download kernel functions from others. Our L3AF platform= can then be used to orchestrate and compose selected kernel functions from= the marketplace to several business needs. In this way, L3AF provides deve= lopers with a cloud and vendor-agnostic platform for adding capabilities to= an operating system at runtime. We believe that the creation of such a ful= ly integrated software ecosystem around eBPF will unleash its full potentia= l for community adoption.
ODIM: ODIM coordinates with other key SDOs and open source communities, = with a focus on automation, simplification, consistency, and interoperabili= ty of COTS and OSS infrastructure management solutions resulting in acceler= ating infrastructure deployments across segments while lowering operational= complexity and cost.
ONAP: The ONAP community sessions will highlight recent achievements and=
milestones, and plan for the next ones. Attendees can expect to learn abou=
t new features and capabilities in the Istanbul release, including CNF, ent=
erprise use-cases and many more. Updates will be provided regarding on-goin=
g efforts in architecture, modeling, security, and requirements. A big chun=
k of time will be dedicated to demos showing ONAP addressing real-world use=
cases. The planning sessions will present a unique opportunity for
community members and non-members to provide input that will shape the next=
releases of ONAP.
OpenDaylight: OpenDaylight will be hosting some =E2=80=9Chow to get enga= ged=E2=80=9D discussions and introduce new projects that aim to scale OpenD= aylight for 2022 and into the future.
Tungsten Fabric: The Tungsten Fabric community will focus on =E2=80=9Cha= nds-on=E2=80=9D development work for the next release of Tungsten Fabric, r= efining the Release Process, improving the CI/CD pipeline, and exploring cr= oss-community integration with projects such as ONAP, DPDK, and more.
XGVela: An open source collaborative cloud native Platform as a Service = (PaaS) for applications and Telco network functions, which is to enable new= services and help mobile operators to seize business opportunities from ve= rtical industries in the 5G era.
